Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below only shows reserved time periods, not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor whether or not the final exam for a course will be scheduled during this time.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations in which DEP conducts operator certification exams. Please consult individual exam pages for additional guidelines, conditions and guidelines and exam information. If you need special accommodations due to chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment or other disabilities make contact with the exam provider and provide the documents when you register.
The Faculty Dashboard in Workday includes the option of "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to locate their exam schedules. In addition the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for classes in which an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes that are held in the evenings are scheduled for the regular class meeting times of the final exams.

Registration
The exam schedule is accessible online and students are advised to review it. It is important to keep in mind that the schedule for exams may be altered at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors to confirm the correct date and time of their test. similar site should also make sure to print out the official list and bring it with them to their exam.
Students must also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and terms of the exam, in addition to the schedule. These can be found on the page for each exam. When they register, students agree that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
Exam sites make every effort to accommodate students with special requirements. The nature and the extent of these requirements should be declared on the registration and verified by a doctor's attestation. Additionally, the exam locations must be kept confidential.
If a student has three examinations scheduled for the same day it is suggested that they contact their department or instructor to schedule an alternate exam. It is possible to take three exams on the same day. However, this can lead to a high level of stress and impact the quality. Additionally, the professor might not be able to conduct a makeup test on a different day.
Before taking the test, students must prepare by studying the syllabus and practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test that tests the ability to read, speak and write in German. The results of the examination are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2. Students who successfully pass the test receive the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate demonstrates the that they have achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level corresponds with the first level of the six-level scale of competence set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free. Students must carry an ID that is valid for government purposes to the test. Those without a valid photo identification will be disqualified.
Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to receive an Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you must pay the exam fee. This fee is in addition the course fees.
Practice assessments provide you with an overview of the style, wording and difficulty of the questions on the exam. They allow you to assess your level, discover gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the exam.
Please note that the examination fee is not refundable. The results of the examination can only be accessed via email and not by telephone.
